Name: Nia

Age: 28
Teaching area: Swansea

I am happy and relaxed, always up for a laugh and love meeting new people. I started pole dancing as it was always something I fancied having a go at and a great way to keep fit. It just looked like so much fun, so when the chance of doing a course in Swansea came up I jumped at the chance. I enjoyed pole dancing so much and knew that there were so many other people out there who would love to have a go in the Swansea area that I decided start teaching, it seemed like a great way of sharing the fun and also furthering my hobby! I have been dancing for nearly a year now. I like to dance to any type of R&B or dance music but mostly depends on my mood. As well as dancing I spend a lot of time running and of course socialising with friends.

Day job: Solicitor

Favorite pole dancing move: Either the Backwards Spin or the Bat

Least favorite pole dancing move: Climbing, far too much effort!

Most embarrassing pole dancing moment yet: Realising on a night out, after several attempts, that the poles in Reflex are not for professional use and trying to go upside down was just not a good idea!

Carla

Name: Carla

Age: 29
Teaching area: All areas of South & West Wales

I'm easy going, relaxed and fun with a great sense of humour. My sister dragged me into pole dancing, we went along to watch a show in London and thought 'yeah, I can do that', and guess what, now I can, lol. I decided to set up the business along with Lisa a while ago and absolutely love it. I love a challenge and enjoying helping people in the best way I can. There is nothing better than seeing the look of achievement on my girls faces when they manage to get upside down or a great move. I have been pole dancing for over 4 years now and enjoy dancing to every kind of music possible, although my favourite being Eurythmics 'Sweet Dreams' & David Banner 'Play'. I love all kinds of sports and enjoy getting dirty & messy doing outdoor activities inc. horse riding, canoeing, etc.

Day job: Pole Twisters director & teacher, part time administrator at Adtrader and performer at various clubs

Favorite pole dancing move: No particular favourite, anything upside down

Least favorite pole dancing move: Chillin, falling back hanging on with just your legs is painful & not pretty

Most embarrassing pole dancing moment yet: Teaching a class full of girls how to pirouette and miss grabbing the pole. Not good when you land on your behind with everyone watching.

I am a very creative person who has 1000 ideas but no money & time to do them in! lol.
I have a 14 month old child at present & pole dancing has helped to get me back into shape. I started to wondering about the art of pole dancing over 5 years ago! I then decided to buy a pole, and dvd's from america then me an my sister started to teach each other.

I had a idea of running my own pole dancing company a long time ago, then I finally took the courage with my sister to set up 'Pole Twisters Ltd' our company is challenging at times, especially as we both had no business background to us, everyday is a learning curve but I thrive off personal achievements. Now we successfully have been running for just under 2 years and have our stage 5 pole dancing course starting soon. I enjoy fashion, socialising & travelling, swimming in warm countries. I love to make my son smile an involve him as much as I can in my life.

Day job: Pole Twisters Ltd director & teacher, part-time model.

Favorite pole dancing move: Extended side spin & power v

Least favorite pole dancing move: painful moves that involve my inner thighs, lol

Most embarrassing pole dancing moment yet: Being at a group open session working for another company, i did a spin move, then the pole fell down off the ceiling, but i luckily managed to catch the pole in time & stand back up!! not sure how i did it, but glad i did, the class was full of 20 girls, they might not have come back!! in the end everyone was laughing.

Vicki

Name: Vicki Salimeni

Age: almost 27
Teaches: Burlesque lessons & parties and Burlesque performer
Teaching area:  Cardiff & surrounding areas

A bit about me
I am a very lively, out-going, friendly kinda Gal!!!! I love to meet new people and thrive on random-ness & unique-ness. I started Burlesque with the girls and found I had a 'natural' flair for it, i love the girliness, the cheekiness and the fact you don't have to be stick-thin for it!! Burlesque is ideal for size 0-100, it gives you confidence and you don't have to be extremely fit for it, the moves you learn you will find yourself striking poses in the supermarket, busting some moves on the dance floor and definitely in the bedroom!!!

Day job: I work in a Hotel & Restaurant, on reception, waitressing and barmaid work..

Favorite burlesque move: When your dressed up and strutting round.....any move is good!!!!

Least favorite burlesque move: Shaking the Nipple tassel, nothing wrong with the move, just hate my boobs!! :-)

A bit about me
I'm a fun and bubbly person who loves meeting new people. I decided to give pole dancing a whirl to let my hair down and escape the stress of University! After my first lesson with Carla I was hooked. My upper body strength and flexibility has vastly improved since dancing... especially as the more chocolate I eat, the stronger my arms must get!

Day job:Final year dental student

Favorite pole move: One handed swan

Least favorite pole move: Horizontal leg spin

Most Embarrassing Moment: Showing a hen party a climbing fireman, only to climb to the top whilst spinning and hitting my head through the tiles!!!

Leah

Age: 21

A bit about me
I'm a super energetic and slightly eccentric girl who loves to be the centre of attention. I've been dancing for about 2 years and was soo excited when I was asked to be part of the Pole Twisters team. All those times of trying to get my housemate upside down on the pole had finally paid off! I've met so many lovely people through pole dancing and would recommend it till I'm blue in the face. When I'm not on my pole, I'll usually be found at a dance music festival or on a horse. Getting my pole was definitely one of the best things I've ever done.

Least favorite pole move: Swan. Nothing personal, I just never seem to use it!

Most Embarrassing Moment: Had to much to drink whilst pole dancing in a club. I went upside down and slid back to the floor with a thud
