Celebrities That Stay Fit Through Pole Dancing

Carla & Lisa Broughton • Jan 23, 2018

One of our previous articles on Pole Twisters entitled ‘ Pole Fitness Olympics chronicled how pole dancing has evolved from being associated with strip clubs and exotic dancing into a worldwide fitness phenomenon. The trend has become that popular that even celebrities have now turned to pole dancing to stay fit. Today, let’s look at five women who are devoted to pole dancing to maintain their physiques.

Kate Hudson

Ever wondered how Kate Hudson is able to keep her body trim? Pole dancing is a huge factor in the equation. People Magazine featured one of her pole routines earlier this year, and said in an interview that she wants to stay in shape primarily for her health and not for appearance. However, she admitted that another reason why she likes pole dancing, besides the total body workout it provides, is because it makes her feel sexy.

Besides pole dancing, the actress also does jazz dancing and takes spinning classes to stay in shape. Additionally, Hudson goes cycling and hiking. The actress has her own activewear line.

Nicole Scherzinger

Besides using pole dancing for fitness, Nicole Scherzinger is also known for incorporating her pole moves on stage, particularly when she was serving as the front-woman of the Pussycat Dolls. Rolling Stone pointed out that the sexy girl group borrowed heavily from pole dancing and burlesque for their dance routines.

While Scherzinger may no longer be part of the Pussycat Dolls, she can still be caught dancing a few times by her fans on UK's The X Factor, where she serves as one of the judges. The Evening Standard previously reported that last year's cycle saw the singer pull off a few sexy dance steps in reaction to a contestant's tunes.

Scherzinger's inclusion in the show has helped increase her popularity, considering that The X Factor, one of, if not the longest running talent show in the UK continues to enjoy having a captive audience. In fact, The X Factor Games digital platform was just recently launched, an indication that the show continues to hold its fans in thrall. As one of the show's judges, Scherzinger's certainly not afraid to showcase her meticulous side as a judge on TV, and her perfectionist nature can be seen through her impeccable dancing skills as well, including her pole dancing techniques. This was recently exhibited when she worked on Dirty Dancing.

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston learned how to pole dance for her role in We’re the Millers. The actress liked it so much that she took it on for exercise in real life. The Express reported that she even had a pole installed in her house to be used for private lessons and practice. As we said in an earlier article here on Pole Twisters , there are several benefits that you can gain by taking private lessons versus joining a class, including getting the undivided attention from the teacher who can provide you with more instructions to improve your craft.

Besides pole dancing, Aniston also practices yoga and Budokan karate to stay in shape.

Emma Roberts

Scream queen Emma Roberts revealed that her workout of choice is pole dancing. She said that she took up the sport with her friends as a way to bond together, but it has since become her favourite fitness activity. She revealed that the exercise developed her upper body strength, and helped her build self-confidence.

She was last seen in the horror-comedy series Scream Queens, which was cancelled earlier this year. She will next be seen in American Horror Story: Cult. She was also part of two earlier seasons of the series.

Carmen Electra

Carmen Electra's days as a professional dancer may be behind her, but it doesn't mean that she no longer like grooving to the music. In fact, Shape relayed that she credits pole dancing as the reason for her fit body. The celebrity even has her own pole dancing kit in stores, called the Electra Pole. She also has her own line of fitness videos to help other people become fit and sexy.
