Kendra's Journey

Joining aerial fitness generally has had a massive impact on my life improving my self esteem confidence and self worth. This society of people has made me feel included and valued. In fact it’s where I met nearly all of my friends. I’ve never met a more supportive group of people.

I joined pole in university and instantly took to it, unfortunately I had been in a car accident just before I started pole so I was at one of my lowest points in life. I had a fractured face and was badly bruised. Aerial fitness was probably the only thing that made me get out of bed and made me feel like myself again. I was a very big fan of the fitness element behind it. It was always something I wanted to try but I never found any studios in Northern Ireland.

I had always went to the gym but had never really seen any real impact on my body until I started aerial sports, I watched myself become stronger and more confident as my aerial journey continued.

I loved inverting almost immediately and my favorite move was a butterfly. Before I started I had no idea the sheer levels of strength needed! I did struggle with my shoulder mount a lot to the extent I actually studied to become a pt so I could get strong enough to do one, after a year of it became a favorite.

Nowadays my favorite move (as all my students will know) is a brass monkey. It’s no secret I hate Allegra’s though I eventually began teaching both pole and hoop at the uni, and continued to do so after I graduated and worked in London, upon returning to Wales, I started working in Pole Twisters in August 2021, I have enjoyed working here & have been able to teach many lessons and have met lots of people along the way, I trained here and got to a good level. Then I later too an externally qualification gaining my beginner and intermediate spin city pole teaching qualifications and I am currently undertaking my advanced teaching course. I also undertake strength for aerial qualifications and flexibility ones to become the best teacher I could be. In terms of my teaching career my favorite classes to teach are mixed abilities as I love exploring aerial combinations. Get yourself booked on here and enjoy a class with me, and together we can explore your capabilities.

The moves I’m currently working on is my iron X, my elbow grip ayesha and dead lift handspring. I plan to start competing externally as well. Again I must emphasis I hate Allegras

We want to take a moment to express our gratitude for each and every one of you who brings your passion and energy to our dance studio. Your dedication and enthusiasm make our community vibrant and thriving! We believe that having a variety of experiences and perspectives is essential for growth, both as dancers and as individuals. That's why we want to encourage you to explore and expand your dance journey beyond the comfort of the teacher and class that you love. We recognize the value of seeking out different teachers and classes to broaden your horizons. Trying new teachers, styles, techniques and approaches can enrich your dance experience and help you discover new talents and interests. Remember, other teachers might show you something in a different way than your regular teacher, offering fresh insights and perspectives that can deepen your understanding and appreciation of pole dance. So, to all our wonderful students, we want you to know that it's absolutely okay to explore other teachers and classes. In fact, we encourage it! We want you to feel empowered to seek out opportunities that inspire and challenge you. And to our dedicated instructors, thank you for creating a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel encouraged to grow and explore. Anyone who knows me , I love my fitness , June this year I decided to take the plunge and try something new and challenging. I decided to try Pole Fitness, I did have reservations thinking I'm a 44 year old woman should I be doing this, but I convinced myself to give it a go...so i booked a taster lesson at https://www.poletwisters.co.uk/ and I loved it !! The confidence it has given me is tremendous, its massively helped with my anxiety, the benefits it has for your mental health and well being is fantastic, and body wise it's a great workout for your whole body . I was asked if I wanted to become a teacher, so October I took my very 1st class..who would of thought it ...not me ,never in a million years ,that in June I walked through those doors a anxious mess and now i'm a pole teacher ! I have met some lovely ladies and made some new friends along the way . So come along and see what pole can do for you,the confidence and passion its given me ... book your taster class and see where it leads https://www.poletwisters.co.uk/ #polefitness #polefit #bodyandmind #polesport #polelife
